Gary Kekanelua Eskelson, passed away July 21, 1998, while swimming in his beautiful Bear Lake, the place he loved most.

He was born May 11, 1946 in Salt Lake City, to Randall and Marcella Nielsen Eskelson. He honorably served an LDS mission to Japan (Northern Far East Mission) Fall of 1965-Spring of 1968. Gary served as a police officer for Salt Lake City, serving several years on the motorcycle squad. He married Nona Anderson, June 14, 1974; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The joy of his life was his three sweet daughters, Kathrine (Katie) Mary, Elizabeth (Betsy) Mary, and Barbara (Barbie) Noel. Although Gary was well known for being able to fix just about anything, he was best known as a good father, who lived the way he believed, focusing his love, time and energy on his family.He is survived by his wife; daughters; mother; brother, Mark Kekane (Jill); sisters, Delsa (Randall) Feil and Barbara (Rob) Tew; as well as brothers and sisters-in-law, Cherry and Mel

Bryson, Andy and Ruby Anderson, Vee Sessions, Robin and Lynn Wahlquist, Dan and Susan Anderson, David and Sherry Anderson, John and Emily Anderson; and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and great-niece, Ashley.

A memorial service was held at his Bear Lake home, July 24th. On Tuesday, July 28, 1998, 12 noon, a second memorial service will be held in Salt Lake at the Monument Park 8th Ward Chapel, 1794 South Texas Street (2400 East.)
