It may be the closest Karl Malone ever gets to a golf course.

Among those competing are former Cincinnati Reds stars Johnny Bench and Joe Morgan, NFL Hall of Famer Jan Stenerud, Olympic gold medal freestyle ski aerialist Nikki Stone, ex-Jazz center Mark Eaton and Los Angeles Clippers forward Isaac Austin, a close friend of Malone's.

Malone's tie to the tournament is his charity, the Karl Malone Foundation for Kids, which is one of two charities for the tournament along with the University Hospital's newborn intensive care unit.
