Sen. Joseph L. Hull, D-Hooper, was presented with the Utah Farm Bureau's "Friend of Agriculture" award recently for supporting the interests of his rural constituents, a bureau press release said.

Bureau President Ken Ashby said the award goes to people who have shown a commitment to helping preserve agriculture's future."(Hull's) enthusiasm during the 1998 legislative session helped in the successful passage of the farm bureau-sponsored amendments to the work-ers compensation law for agriculture," Ashby said.

Hull, who grew up on a farm near Hooper, started his political career in the state House of Representatives in 1987. He has served as Senate Minority Whip since 1994.
