SHARE Death: Leonal A. Blakesley

Leonal "Lee" A. Blakesley, 78, passed away peacefully of natural causes on July 28, 1998.

He was born February 19, 1920, in Escalon, California, the son of Thomas Alvin Blakesley and Lucy Miss Smith. Lee married Alice Moselle Ralphs on December 11, 1943; their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.Lee loved his wife and family (especially the "kids"); he dedicated himself totally to them. He also loved church, work, cooking, gardening and letter writing to those far away. Lee was the family lightship, safe harbor, anchor, protector, rescuer, babysitter, toy-finder, gourmet cook and gardener. He was the Canyon Rim Stake Clerk and Executive Secretary literally for decades. Although he suffered from a series of progressively debilitating strokes since 1992, Lee was truly a comfort and fine companion to the end. Always handy with a smile, if you took the time to ask, he was doing "REAL GOOD"; or even if you didn't ask. The picture of his lovely wife on the bulletin board, a grandchild's visit, and news of his "missionaries" made him cry.

Lee is survived by by his wife, Alice; children, Chris (Suzy), Anne Parry (Richard), Jim (Jane), and his beloved Cathie Davis (Scott). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bonnie.

Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, July 31, 1998, at 11 a.m. at the Canyon Rim Stake Center, 3051 South 2900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah, and from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the Stake Center prior to service. Interment will be at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
