The Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce, after its best year ever, will hold a membership blitz from Aug. 1 to Sept. 4.
The goal of the blitz, named "Ride the Wave," is to bring 100 new businesses into the chamber. The entire membership (1,000 businesses) has been invited to participate by sponsoring other businesses into the chamber. Businesses sponsor other businesses by referring them to the Chamber for a membership invitation. The purpose of the blitz is to notify the business community of the new benefits of membership and the restructuring that has taken place over the past two years. The Chamber has added bottom-line benefit programs like Worker's Compensation through Combined Insurance and a telecommunications package through NEXTLINK.
The chamber is currently negotiating a cellular and health insurance program for its members. The organization was founded in 1878, the first Chamber of Commerce in Utah.
