Nu Skin Enterprises reported a $30.1 million net income and 35 cents per share for the second quarter of fiscal 1998.
The earning represent a slight increase from the same period last year where net income was $29.9 million and shares increase 34 cents. Reported revenue for the quarter, which was impacted significantly by the strengthening of the U.S. dollar, was $209.1 million.For the six months ended June 30, the personal-care products company reports a net income of $61.8 million.
"We are pleased that we were able to post very profitable results during a period when the Asian economies have experienced volatility and many companies have suffered dramatic decreases in Asian-based profits and revenue," said Steven J. Lund, president and chief executive officer.
The multilevel marketing company currently has operations in Asia, Europe and the Pacific, and sells products in 24 countries.
