A mother of three was charged with manslaughter by authorities who said she left her 4-month-old daughter in the stifling heat of a car for more than three hours.

Malke Pinter, 24, apparently forgot to take the infant to a baby sitter after dropping her husband off at work and instead drove straight home, said Wendi Patella, a spokeswoman for the State Division of Youth and Family Services. The baby sat in the car in front of the house 3 1/2 hours Wednesday.

Autopsy results on Donya Chaya Pinter were consistent with exposure to high temperatures in an automobile, police said.

The other children, both under age 3, will remain with relatives while the state determines whether they would be in danger if returned home. It was unclear where the older children were at the time of the incident.
