Edwin Diaz went 4-for-5 and drove in three runs as the Tucson Sidewinders defeated the Salt Lake Buzz 11-5 Wednesday night in the Pacific Coast League.

Diaz drove in the Sidewinders' first run with a single in the second and hit a two-run triple in the seventh.John Shave drove in Salt Lake's first run in the second inning with an RBI fielder's choice. A.J. Pierzynski followed with his fourth homer of the year, a two-run shot.

Garry Maddox hit a two-run triple for Tucson in the second and then scored when Rob Ryan grounded out to first.

Salt Lake scored a run in the third when Bryan Buchanan grounded out and got another in the seventh on Esteban Beltre's single.

Tucson picked up single runs in the fifth and sixth on singles by Ryan and Mike Robertson, then added three in the eighth on a fielder's choice by Tom Wilson and singles by Hensley Meulens and Ron Hartman.

Jeff Suppan (3-2) gave up five runs on seven hits, striking out five over just short of seven innings for the win. Travis Baptist (8-4) allowed five runs on nine hits over five innings in the loss.
