Utahns enrolled in a health maintenance organization (HMO) may be surveyed by phone for the 1998 HMO Enrollee Satisfaction Survey.
The Utah Health Department is conducting its third annual survey, which began in June and will con-clude in August. More than 7,000 Utahns, randomly selected from HMO enrollment files, will be contacted by phone and questioned about the quality of service and medical care they received from their health plan. The survey will be conducted by DataStat Inc., an independent survey agency located in Ann Arbor, Mich. Participation is voluntary, and all information is both anonymous and confidential.
Both commercially insured and Medicaid enrollees of Utah's major managed care plans will be called. Those plans are Intermountain Health Care, Intergroup of Utah, Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield of Utah, United Health Care of Utah, Cigna Health Care of Utah, American Family Care, University Health Network and PacifiCare of Utah.
