The Kimball Art Center will have its 2nd Annual Rocky Mountain Invitational Exhibition July 10 through Sept. 1. Eighteen of the region's finest contemporary representational artists have been invited to participate. Opening events will be held Friday and Saturday, July 10 and 11, at the Kimball Art Center.
- The Museum of Art at Brigham Young University will host "Family Art Days" on Tuesday, Wedneday and Thursday, July 7-9, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be artists in action, hands-on art activities for kids, tours of the museum, prizes, live music and refreshments. All activities are free. For more information call 801-378-8287.- The Intermountain Society of Artists will be held Wednesday, July 8, 7:30 p.m. at the Utah Gallery (6280 S. Redwood Road). David Lindsley is the featured artist and will demonstrate portraiture in oil. The public is invited.
WORKSHOPS AND LECTURES
- Father Tom Carkhuff, director of the American Museum of Asmat Art, St. Paul, Minn., will present a special gallery talk on Saturday, July 11, at 4 p.m. Carkhuff will speak about Asmat life and the symbolism of the carvings, particularly as represented in the Ashmat war shields.
