Irene R. Woolley, age 78, died quietly at home from the effects of cancer July 2, 1998 in Midvale, Utah.
She was born November 24, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Albert and Anna Dora Swenson Richardson. She married Lyle T. Woolley on August 16, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Irene was a member of the LDS Church. She served as Relief Society President, two time Primary President, primary teacher, scout leader, stake homemaking leader, and visiting teacher. She also served as an election judge and as a volunteer for cancer and heart drives.She is survived by her husband, Lyle; four children: Susan W. Brandt, David R. Woolley, Kathryn R. Oliphant, Annette R. Miller-Wismar; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers: William (Marlene) Richardson, Glenn (Janelle) Richardson, Dean (Nedra) Richardson; three sisters: Bernice (Reed) Laker, Fern Hurzeler, Leone Jensen. She was preceded in death by a son, Gordon Lyle Woolley; and a sister, Edna Richardson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 7, 1998 at 11 a.m. in the Midvale 4th Ward (75 South Olympus Circle). Friends may call Monday 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary (255 South 200 East, SLC) and Tuesday 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the Ward. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
