Donald Max Lunceford, 76, of Orem, passed away on Friday, July 3, 1998, at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City.

He was born on April 17, 1922, in Orem, Utah, the son of George Horace Lunceford and Lutie Hales Lunceford. He married Faye Pulham on June 27, 1947, in the Manti LDS Temple.He was educated in Orem schools and graduated from Lincoln High School. He also attended Brigham Young University for three years, studying geology. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II in the South Pacific. He worked for Geneva Steel for 34 years, was also employed by Utah Valley Fruit Growers, and was a farmer, which he enjoyed the most.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as high priest group leader, elders quorum president, teacher, and other various position. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union.

Survivors include three daughter and two sons: Sandra Wake of West Jordan, Donald Eugene "Gene" (Valerie) Lunceford of Orem, David Lee (Sandra) Lunceford of Fulson, CA; Shauna Lees (Daniel Raines) of Taylorsville, Cindy (Frank) Parker of West Jordan; 15 grandchildren; one brother and one sister, Wayne Jack (Gloria) Lunceford, and June (Dix) Hardy, both of Orem.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye, two daughters, Pamela Lunceford and Debra Lunceford Christiansen; three brothers, George Eugene "Gene" Lunceford, Kenneth Charles Lunceford, Gearld Allen Lunceford.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 7, 1998, at 11 a.m. in the Canyon View LDS 3rd Ward Chapel, 762 East 1200 North, Orem. Friends may call at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, on Tuesday evening, 6-8 p.m. or Wednesday at the ward Relief Society room, one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery with full military rites.
