Mable Lucille "Lou" Irwin Spray, age 87, passed away Sunday morning, July 5, 1998 at home following a battle with cancer.

Born July 20, 1910 on a farm near McKinney, Texas, the daughter of Victor Irwin and Eula Estelle Bowlin Irwin, the sixth child of seven children. Married 26 years to J. Russell Spray in Los Angeles, CA in 1945, now deceased.Mother became an evangelical minister during the Great Depression and her kind spirit and religious conviction brought strength and comfort to everyone she touched in life. After marriage she assisted her husband in the management of a popular family-owned, men's clothing business in Burbank, CA. She devoted the last years of her life serving others in need and her cheerful smile will forever be in our hearts.

Surviving are her son, J. Russell Spray, II and his wife Marianne; her brother, Donald R. Irwin;, grandchildren, Nick and Cynthia Davis, and great-granddaughters, Lena, Macy and Chloe.

Memorial service will be held Thursday, July 9, 1998 at 2 p.m. in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 10600 So. 1700 East in Sandy. Friends may join family members at the mortuary Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. A graveside service will then be held Friday, July 10, 1998 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, CA.

Due to burial in California family suggest in lieu of flowers, donations in her name be made to the American Cancer Society, Utah Division, 941 East 3300 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84106.
