Gail Sherratt Moffat, Jr., 79, died July 7, 1998.

He was born January 28, 1919 to Gail Sherratt Moffat, Sr. and Katherine McQuarrie Moffat in Salt Lake City, Utah. Narried Margaret Lloyd on September 16, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Active member of the LDS Church. Retired engineer from Kennecott Copper Corporation after 40 years of service. Member, Sigma Chi Fraternity at University of Utah. Veteran World War II and received the distinguished "Flying Cross" medal. Retired Captain, U.S. Air Force.Survived by his wife, Margaret; daughter, Susan Hitchcock, Salt Lake City; three grandchildren, David and wife, Jennifer Holmes, Lehi, Utah; Amy and husband, Shawn MacGregor, Salt Lake City; Jennifer Hitchcock, Salt Lake City; four great-grandchildren, Stockton, Delaney and Ian MacGregor; Wil Holmes; sister, Kathryn Erb, Carpenteria, California. Preceded in death by brother, Allan Moffat and sister, Janice McCarty.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 1998 at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park (Mountain View Section). Friends may call at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Friday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
