The Humane Society of Utah is offering "two-fur-one" adoptions for at least another full month at its shelter, 4242 S. 300 West.
Society executive director Gene Baierschmidt says the shelter is inundated with kittens and hopes the public will respond with offers of adoption.Normally, the agency's adoption fee is $69 for each animal, which includes spay or neuter surgery, the first immunizations, a carrier and a bag of cat food.
But "from now until the CAT-astrophe is over, which should be at least another full month, adopters will get two kittens - all extras included for both - for the single $69 price," Baierschmidt said.
Adoptions reduce the need for euthanizing animals for which homes can't be found, he said.
The society is open for adoptions from noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. Call 561-2919, Ext. 227, for more information.
