Afterthoughts

While Bill Clinton was dancing with China, Japan was complaining about being left on the sidelines. And he made Taiwan wait in the car.

- The U.S. and China agreed to stop aiming their missiles at each other. Never mind that the missiles can be re-targeted in 15 minutes. Let's see -- what time did Clinton leave China?- In the Beijing war room, they are saying: "If it's 3:15 -- that must be Cleveland."

- Appearing on Shanghai's most popular radio talk show, Clinton was greeted with polite questions from the callers. Either the calls were screened or the word "Lewinsky" doesn't translate very well.

- Meanwhile, on that same day back in Washington, Linda Tripp was appearing before a grand jury plugging her new CD.
