LaMar "C" Kap, 65, died Thursday, July 30, 1998.

He was born July 16, 1933 in Ogden, a son of John, Jr., and Euola Fay Call Kap. On July 20, 1962, LaMar married Geraldine "Jeri" Wade, in the Logan LDS Temple. He was raised and educated in Ogden. He received his Associate's Degree from Weber Junior College in 1955, attended New York University and Utah State University. In 1964, he graduated from Weber State College with a Bachelor's Degree. In 1973, he graduated from the University of Utah with a Master's Degree in Social Work. He worked at Weber State University for 32 years and was presently the Director of the Center for Students with Disabilities. LaMar was a lifelong advocate of programs for disadvantaged youth. He promoted boxing, founded local Boys Clubs of America Chapters, and was a Little League Coach and Sponsor. He was involved with the Jewish Community Center in Salt Lake City and the Community Action Program.Surviving are his wife of Pleasant View; one son and one daughter, Jason L. (Lynette) Kap, Seattle, Wash.; Natasha Kap, Pleasant View; and his faithful companion, Scooter. LaMar is also survived by one brother, Lyle (Carol) Kap, Ogden. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Alberteen Krim.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 11 a.m., at the Pleasant View Stake Center, 500 West 3100 North. Friends may call at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday at the Stake Center from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, North Ogden Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LaMar "C" Kap Memorial Scholarship Fund, Weber State University Development Office, 4018 University Circle, Ogden, Utah 84408-4018.
