Flora K. Horsley, age 96, passed away quietly in Bountiful Utah on Sunday, August 30, 1998.

She was born April 18, 1902 in a log cabin in Byron, Wyoming, the daughter of Fred Kohler and Flora Inez Pack. She married Joseph LeRoy Horsley in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, February 1, 1923. He preceded her in death May 26, 1976. She was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She graduated from High School in Malad, Idaho. She was married in the Salt Lake Temple on February 1, 1923 to Joseph LeRoy Horsley.She is survived by her two children, Kathleen Redd and Grant L. Horsley, of Bountiful; and sister Mae Evans, of Salt Lake City. Her love for life and family impacted the lives of her two children, 12 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.

She and her husband compiled and published the "Horsley book of Humorous Readings, Serious Poems and Religious Stories". Her ability to commit to memory entire chapters of the Standard works was phenomenal and she was always willing to share her talent and delighted many with her readings and poems.

Her church service included years in all auxiliary organizations. She and her husband were successful stake missionaries, and together served for two years in the Southwest British Mission. Flora and Roy also worked for 15 years in the Salt Lake Temple.

Flora left a legacy of candy making skills not to be surpassed. She has taught her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren the art of making fondants and dipping chocolates. Christmas chocolates was a special time for all.

Funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, September 3, 1998 at the Val Verda 2nd Ward Chapel, 2651 South 500 West, Bountiful. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary and again Thursday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
