Sammy Sosa of the Chicago Cubs belts his 62nd home run of the season Sunday to pass Roger Maris and pull into a tie with Mark McGwire for the most homers in a single season. Sosa also hit his 61st homer in the game against Milwaukee, moving ahead of Babe Ruth, who hit 60 in 1927. After hitting No. 62, Sosa came out for three curtain calls as fans chanted "Sam-mee! Sam-mee!" The delay lasted six minutes. The Cubs needed both Sosa blasts to top the Brewers, 11-10. Story on Page D1.
