E. LeRoy (Roy) Fillmore, 81, of Provo, died January 24, 1999, at his home in Provo after a lengthy illness.

He was born August 9, 1917, in Rigby, Idaho, to Roy and Margaret Jones Fillmore. He attended schools in Rigby and later graduated with the class of 35. He married Virginia May Atkinson in Los Angeles, CA on August 7, 1938. He later married his wife of 52 years, Anna Louise Petty on July 5, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. Roy was employed by several major freight line companies, and served as Rate Manager for Garret Freightways, Traffic Manager for Consolidated Freightways, Vice President of Traffic for TransCon Lines, and was Chairman of the Board of Directors for the National Motor Freight Traffic Association. These professional duties led him to locate in Salt Lake City, then Portland, Oregon, Indianapolis, Indiana, and La Habra, California, before retiring to North Logan, Utah in 1974.He was an active member of the LDS Church, holding a variety of positions over the years. He especially enjoyed working in the Provo Temple for the past four years. Roy loved to fish, golf, read and do crossword puzzles, and to watch all BYU sports, the 49ers and Atlanta Braves, with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Anna, of Provo and five children; Terry L. Fillmore, Fullerton, CA; Sharilyn Lee Fillmore, Guasti, CA; William L. Fillmore, Provo, UT; Jeffrey "L" Fillmore, Mt. Airy, Maryland; Kent L. Fillmore, Salt Lake City, UT; 14 grandchildren and one brother, Bill Fillmore, Centerville, UT and one sister, Barbara Fillmore, Burlingame, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 29, 1999 at 12 noon in the Pleasant View 6th Ward Chapel, 2445 North 650 East, Provo under the direction of the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home of Orem. Friends may call on Friday from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. prior to service. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
