Sadie Marsh Hutchings Hanson, 93, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 9, 1999.

She was born December 3, 1905 in Mapleton, Utah to Thomas E. and Mary Evans Marsh. She was sixth of ten children. She graduated from Springville High School.On November 19, 1924, Sadie married Vivian Silas Hutchings. They made their

home in Springville. On May 13, 1928, Sadie was baptized a member of the LDS Church. Vivian died February 1, 1936 at age 34 after a brief illness. The marriage was solemnized April 26, 1937 in the Manti Temple. The couple had four children.

Sadie went to work at the Springville cannery to support her young family and always expressed deep gratitude to good friends and family for helping them brave the "depression years."

On May 9, 1947, she married Mark B. Hanson in the Manti Temple and moved to Spanish Fork, where he farmed and raised purebred sheep. They were the parents of three children. Mark died July 6, 1977.

Sadie was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many capacities in Sunday School, Primary, and Relief Society auxiliaries. She has also been a member of various women's clubs and choruses, including a group of Primary workers and friends that met regularly for over 60 years. She loved reading and learning, gardening, singing, quilting, embroidery, sewing, and crocheting fine lace for pillowcases, doilies, and baby dresses.

Sadie was preceded in death by two sons, Stanley V. Hutchings and Don Mark Hanson; and two grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Duane F. (Phyllis) Hutchings of Spanish Fork and Boyd Jay (Diana) Hanson of Boston, MA; three daughters, Mrs. Leon (Marcia) Hutchings of Springville, Mrs. Shirley Daley of Sandy, and Mrs Lynn (Mary Jane) Tuttle of Orem; daughter-in-law, Ann Hutchings of Spanish Fork; 27 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and nine great great-grandchildren. Additional loved ones are her sister, Jennie Jensen of Cedar City and a special sister-in-law, Velma Hutchings of Springville.

The family wishes to express gratitude to the wonderful individuals who have cared for her for the past years in her home, and most recently at Bel Aire Assisted Living Center.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 13, 1999 at 11 a.m. at the

Spanish Fork 4th/7th Ward Chapel, 381 East 400 North. Viewing will be 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services under the direction of Walker Mortuary. Burial will be in Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
