She was born September 15, 1907, to Reuben Davis Rogers and Wealthy Ballard Rogers in Snowflake, Arizona. She married Ivan Junius Barrett on June 1, 1933, in the Mesa Temple. They are the parents of five daughters: Eulene (John) Adams, Oakley, Idaho; DeNae (Charles) Newton, Salt Lake City, Utah; Iva June (Myron) Walker, Orem, Utah; Annette (Edward) Bailey, Mesa, Arizona; Janice (Ronald) Hansen, Woodbury, Minnesota.As a young woman she served an LDS mission to the Central States. While

there she met her future husband, Ivan J. Barrett, who also was serving in the same mission. Last June they celebrated 66 years of marriage. Mr. Barrett died on August 16, 1999. Mrs. Barrett's greatest desire was to live to take care of her husband. Two weeks after his death, Mrs. Barrett suffered a stroke and remained in poor health until her death.

Mrs. Barrett has served as President of the Young Women, and Primary, on the ward and stake levels. She served many years as a teacher in the Relief Society. She and her husband presided over the Northwestern States Mission.

They also served as special Church Representatives in Israel. She accompanied her husband on many Church History Tours, Trips to the Holy Land, as well as many BYU Know Your Religion and Education Weeks.

Mrs. Barrett was active in community affairs. She served in the PTA as president and as a board member. She belonged to Orem Women and Yusharia Service Clubs. She has for many years participated in humanitarian fund raisers and drives including sending clothing to the needy in South America.

Mrs. Barrett is survived by her five daughters, 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She also has two living sisters, LaPriel Hoyt, Mesa, Arizona, and Fenla Hatch, Snowflake, Arizona.

The family would like to thank the Timpanogos Hospital nurses and staff, Orem Rehab nurses and staff and especially Rick Romero who has been a true friend to both Mr. and Mrs. Barrett. A special thanks to the Sharon 1st Ward and especially the Barrett's home teachers, Sterling and Janet Bylund.

Funeral services under the direction of the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home of Orem will be held Tuesday, November 16th at 11 a.m. at the Sharon 1st Ward Chapel, 641 South 400 East, Orem. Friends may call Tuesday prior to the services from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
