Julian Lee Eakle, 90, passed away November 12, 1999.
Born October 26, 1909, to Millard Fillmore and Miram Chase Adams Eakle in Woods Cross, Utah; he was the youngest of eight children. Graduated from Davis High School. Married Carma Leone Jensen on March 21, 1939, in the Salt Lake Temple. Lee retired after 31 years from the U.S. Post Office, where he worked as a supervisor. He was an active member of the LDS Church and held many positions, including ward clerk and bishopric counselor in Garden Park Ward. He served as an ordinance worker and supervisor in the Salt Lake Temple for approx. 20 years. Lee and Carma served as companions in the Florida-Ft. Lauderdale Mission and spent four years as volunteers at the VA Medical Center.Lee is survived by his wife, Carma, Salt Lake City; daughters, Kay (Richard) Lamoreaux, West Valley, Linda (Mike) Tiernan, Stevensville, Montana, Bonnie Benson, Holladay, and Frank Benson, Murray; son, Jay (Stacey) Eakle, North Ogden; 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Lee was preceded in death by his father, mother, all of his brothers and sisters, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will by held at 12 noon Tuesday, November 16, at Forestview Ward, 1111 East Charlton Ave. (2815 South). Friends may call at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the ward on Tuesday from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery.
