Don't look back Florida State and Virginia Tech.
Nebraska -- and others -- are moving up in the Top 25.The Seminoles and Hokies remained 1-2 in The Associated Press' Top 25 college football poll Sunday, but the Cornhuskers leapfrogged three spots to No. 4 with a victory over previously undefeated Kansas State.
With four of last week's Top 10 teams losing, there was a huge shakeup in this week's poll as Florida moved up to No. 3, Wisconsin to No. 5 and Texas to No. 6.
Among those tumbling was Tennessee, 28-24 losers to Arkansas Saturday. The Vols (7-2) fell four spots to No. 7.
Kansas State, 41-15 losers to Nebraska, also dropped four places, to No. 9; Penn State fell seven places to No. 13 after a 31-27 loss to Michigan; and Mississippi State plummeted four spots, to No. 12, after a 19-7 loss to Alabama.
Florida State (10-0), which beat Maryland 49-10, received 63 first-place votes and 1,719 points from 69 of the 70 sports writers and broadcasters on the AP panel. Florida State is at Florida (9-1) next Saturday.
Virginia Tech (9-0), which defeated Miami 43-10, got six first-places votes -- up two from a week ago -- and 1,658 points.
Florida, a 20-3 winner over South Carolina, had 1,565 points, with Nebraska at 1,534 points. The Cornhuskers play Colorado next Saturday needing a win to advance to the Big 12 title game Dec. 4.
Wisconsin, which clinched the Big Ten title and a Rose Bowl berth with a 41-3 victory over Iowa, was up four spots from last week. The Badgers were followed by No. 6 Texas, No. 7 Tennessee, No. 8 Alabama, No. 9 Kansas State and No. 10 Michigan.
The Wolverines (8-2) advanced six spots with their victory over the Nittany Lions (9-2).
Marshall (10-0), the only other major college team with a perfect record, was up to No. 11 after a 31-17 win over Western Michigan. Mississippi State (9-1) was No. 12, followed by No. 13 Penn State, No. 14 Georgia Tech, No. 15 Michigan State, No. 16 Mississippi, No. 17 Minnesota, No. 18 Southern Mississippi, and co-No. 19s BYU and Purdue.
BYU dropped four spots after a 31-17 loss to Wyoming.
Georgia, a 38-21 loser to Auburn, fell seven spots to No. 21, followed by No. 22 Arkansas, No. 23 East Carolina, No. 24 Texas A&M and No. 25 Boston College.
In the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll, the top 5 were the same as AP.
Arkansas (6-3), Texas A&M (7-3) and Boston College (7-2) were the new members of this week's Top 25, while Miami, Washington and Ohio State dropped out.
Ohio State, which lost to Illinois 46-20, saw its poll appearance streak end at 86 straight, while Boston College cracked the Top 25 for the first time since the 1995 preseason poll.
