MOUNTAIN HOME, Duchesne Co.-- Anona Oman Miles, our precious mother and friend, age 93, returned to her Heavenly Father at her home in Mountain Home on November 13, 1999.

She was born December 10, 1905 in Mount Pleasant to John William and Anna Johansen Oman. She moved to Boneta with her family in 1908. Married Rue Miles, June 19, 1924 and was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married 67 years until he passed away April 27, 1992.She loved and lived the gospel serving in many callings, among them Stake Relief Society president, 11 years and on the Relief Society Stake Board for 20 years, as organist in many organizations from the age of 15. She had a lovely singing voice and sang at hundreds of funerals and programs. Anona served as chairman of the history book: Memories of Moon Lake, Boneta, Mountain Home and Talmage Wards. Her courage and positive attitude were an example to us all. She lived a life of service to her Heavenly Father, the community and her family.

She is survived by three daughters, one son and spouses, Donna and Wendell Evans, Hoytsville; Maurine and Max Anderson, South Jordan; Carolyn and Bill Christensen, Bluebell; Lloyd and Nancy Miles, Mountain Home; 21 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughters, Betty Lee Meriwether and Anna Odella; sons, Valton, and Vea; a granddaughter, Marla Joy Anderson Cummings, great grandsons, Brock Miles and Kevin Thompson, and brothers, Ray Oman and LaVaur Oman.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 18, 1999, 11 a.m. at the Lake Fork Ward Chapel in Mountain Home, where friends and family can visit Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. Burial in the Mountain Home-Boneta Cemetery under direction of the Hullinger-Olpin Mortuary, Roosevelt.
