Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Ernest E. Behrens, age 66, passed away November 13, 1999 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Ernie was born February 15, 1933 in Salt Lake, Utah, the son of Ernest August and Sofie Schindler Behrens. He married Mary Jane Hampshire on August 8, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah.Ernie was a member of the LDS Church. He worked for Ace Auto Supply, G and L Plumbing Co., Wasatch Plumbing and retired October 15, 1999 after 17 years of service with Hajoca Corporation. He was also a member of the Orchid Society, and Pheasant Society. He enjoyed target shooting and was a member of the Small Arms Club. Ernie loved to hunt and fish.

Dad was the ultimate handyman. He was a kind and loving individual who was respected and admired by all who knew him. He lived for his family and grandchildren. His passing leaves a great void in our lives.

Survivors include his wife Mary, of Salt Lake City; two sons, E. Robert (Lori), Salt Lake, Steven C., Riverton; three grandchildren, Daniel, Amy, Kristi and close friends of the family, Brent and Joe Davies. Preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 18, 1999, at 12 noon, at the Gardens Heights South Ward, 2220 East Fisher Lane (2935 South), with Bishop Randall Voorhees officiating. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
