Love is a word that perfectly describes Louis Marion Wolsey. He loved his Heavenly Father, his eternal companion, MarVel, his dear daughter, MarLou and her companion Ron, their family, and his brothers and sisters, which would include every person he ever met.

Louis was born on August 1, 1916, in Cardston, Alberta, Canada to Luther Justin and Mary Eliza (Spence) Wolsey. He was the fourth child born of 13 children. He spent his early years in Canada, where he got his barber's license. In 1937 he came to Provo, Utah to study at BYU. There he met and married MarVel Wilde on March 19, 1939. When World Was II broke out, he joined the Navy and spent three years valiantly serving his country as a SeeBee. His daughter, MarLou, was born during this time.

After the war, he continued his education in engineering and accounting. Later in his life, he became a carpenter and general contractor. He laid out and helped build many building at BYU including the Library, the Administration and Science buildings. He has also built many homes around Utah Valley, and helped construct the Glen Canyon Dam at Page, Arizona.

He has always had a fascination with mining and prospecting for various minerals and precious metals. He loved gardening and each autumn his wonderful vineyard produced enough grapes to make grape juice for the whole year.

He spent these last years cutting hair in his little barber shop behind his home and loved talking with all the people who came there. He will be greatly missed.
