LINDON -- City officials won't help Pleasant Grove cover its pool, create its own police force or raise taxes to put in trails.

Those decisions were made Tuesday night when the City Council agreed to comply with resident wishes. The council commissioned a survey last summer that revealed residents didn't want to contribute $350,000 for a bubble to cover the $1.7 million Pleasant Grove pool. Residents also wanted the joint Pleasant Grove/Lindon police department to remain as it is. Officials had considered creating their own public safety department. Finally, the council agreed not to raise taxes for trails. Even though trails are important to residents, they opposed tax increases to build them.
