ST. GEORGE, UT-Our precious Mother, Alta Holt Truman, 92, passed away November 13, 1999.
She was born September 28, 1907 at Holt's Ranch near Enterprise, UT, the first child of James Amos and Ada Alger Holt. She married Alma Truman on June 12, 1930 In the St. George LDS Temple. Alta was blessed with a beautiful contralto voice and used her musical talents throughout her life to serve her church and community.Alta is survived by her six children: Delmont (Karol) Truman, Deneice (Dexter) Snow, Ada Jane (Leland) Kleinman, Lonnie (Leslie) Truman, Margaret Marshall, all of St. George; and Carolyn (John) Adams of Salt Lake City; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Joy Eyre of St. George; and Imogene Stock of Washington, UT; one brother: Wesley A. Holt of Caliente, NV. Her husband, one brother, Ivin Holt; one sister: LaVella Howard; and great-granddaughter, Olivia Teisha Marsden, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 18, 1999 at 1 p.m. at the Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary Chapel, 110 So. Bluff Street in St. George. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to services at the mortuary.
