OREM -- An armed robber took an undisclosed amount of money in $50 and $100 bills from the America First Credit Union Thursday morning, thanked the teller and fled, leaving police with surveillance photos and few leads.

Orem Police Department spokesman Doug Edwards said the man simply walked into the credit union building at 1325 South Main just before 10 a.m. and showed a teller a dark-colored semi-automatic gun in his waistband. He demanded the money, which he folded and slipped into a pants pocket. He then said, "Thank you. Have a nice day," and left.

No one was hurt, Edwards said, and the robber's direction of travel wasn't noticed.

An employee of a nearby bank said she saw a man matching the robber's description get into a 4-door maroon or red passenger car parked in a stall not designated for the public. He backed the car in and walked toward the credit union, she said.

The suspect is described as a white male, 45-50 years old, 5'7" to 5'8" tall, about 230 lbs., wearing a plaid jacket or shirt with a black T-shirt, dark pants and white shoes.
