U.S. Bank contributed some $60,000 to nonprofit organizations in the Salt Lake area during the third quarter of the year, bank president Damon Miller said Monday.

Miller said U.S. Bank made donations to a dozen local groups from July through September, noting a special emphasis on supporting affordable housing."Through the partnerships we have established with organizations like Salt Lake Community Development Corp., Utah Nonprofit Housing Corp., Artspace and Habitat for Humanity, U.S. Bank can have a significant impact on our neighbors who need our help," said Miller.

Minneapolis-based U.S. Bank Utah also made third-quarter contributions to Circle of Wellness Inc., Art Access, Hansen Planetarium, Tracy Aviary, Utah Museum of Natural History, KUED public television, Junior Achievement and Demolay.
