Our loving husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend, Alfred James Skinner, age 80, left this life on November 17, 1999, with his family by his side. He will truly be missed by everyone he touched here on earth and will be a welcome addition to heaven.

Al was born November 5, 1919 in Waco, Texas and spent the early years of his life there.A brave and courageous man, Al proudly served three times during World War II (twice as an enlistee in the Army and once as a Marine) and earned a Bronze Star for his contribution to his country.

He married the love of his life, Cherry Kartchner, on May 30, 1952, and together they raised four wonderful children. Alfred loved and respected his membership in the LDS Church and always demonstrated his true love of Jesus Christ through his actions. In addition to the great love he has for his family and the wonderful times they spent together, Al loved laughing, fun times, his dogs, gardening, fishing, bowling, rootbeer floats, country music, card games, old nightmare movies and playing practical jokes on others.

Al was preceded in death by his mother Maedella and his grandson, Michael.

He is survived by his wife, Cherry; his sister, Sylvia; three daughters: Rachel Bench (Steven), Joni Thaller (Frank), Cherry Dornbier (Dean); one son, Al Skinner (Lori) and 11 grandchildren: Christine, Steven, Shane, Ashley, Jillian, Josh, Kimberly, Brandon, Lyndsee, Daniel, and Alexandria.
