MURRAY--Beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, John E. Tibolla, passed away November 15, 1999 in Murray, Utah from complications of encephalitis.
He was born November 23, 1914 in Sovramonte, Italy to Joseph and Albina Brentel Tibolla. He came to the United States when he was six years old and grew up in Copperfield, Utah. He married Lucile Fassio on June 1, 1940. They have resided in Murray, Utah for over 54 years where they raised their four children. John retired from Kennecott Copper in 1976 after 35 years of service. He loved to cook, dance and garden with his wife and was especially proud of his garlic; gambling trips to Nevada with his wife and friends from the Murray Heritage Center; and volunteering in the Center's Kitchen helping prepare meals for their daily lunches. In December 1998, he was one of five out of 1,200 volunteers throughout Salt Lake County honored as outstanding volunteers in the community. John was a wonderful story-teller and his family and friends will miss all his humorous stories.He is survived by his wife, Lucile; sons, John (Bonnie), Bountiful; Terry (Liz), Aurora, Colorado; daughters, Diane (Arley) Curtz, Salt Lake City; Patricia (Wes Marsden) Tibolla, Salt Lake City; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother, Joe (Esther), Taylorsville; sister, Rae (Albert) Dunn, Murray. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rafaella.
Dad loved his family with all his heart. He was caring and generous with his family and friends. We love you Dad, and you will be greatly missed.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Sunday, November 21, 1999, at 6 p.m. in St. Vincent Catholic Church, 1385 East Spring Lane (5150 South). Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. Interment will take place on Monday, November 22, 1999 at 10 a.m. in the Murray City Cemetery, 5600 South & Vine Street.
