SUNNYSIDE -- Avery Amos (Al) Dunford, age 81, passed away Nov. 18, 1999 at his home after a long illness.
Born Sept. 14, 1918 in Beachfork, West Virginia to Samuel Barney and Anne Fitzpatrick Dunford. Married Helen Scovill, July 7, 1943 in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Timpanogas Temple. Member of the LDS Church. Served in the US Army/Air Corps. during World War II. Retired member, U.M.W.A. Kaiser Steel Local #9958. Resident of Sunnyside since 1955. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and his greatest joy in life was his family.Survived by his loving wife, Helen Dunford, Sunnyside; daughter, Shirley (Bert) Pressett, Cedar City, UT; son, Paul (Iris) Dunford, Paonia, CO; daughter-in-law, Kaye Dunford, Roy, UT; four grandchildren, Lori Pressett, Jeremy Pressett, Chad (Leanne) Dunford and Shannon Dunford; great-granddaughter, Sara Dunford; four sisters and two brothers, Georgia Griffith, N. Tazewell, VA; Mary Baldwin, Portsmouth, VA; Barney (Helen) Dunford, Bucyrus, OH; Bill (Nancy) Dunford, Bucyrus, OH; Elizabeth Eaton, Iberia, OH; Dorothy Beavers, VA. Preceded in death by parents; son, Donald; two sisters and one brother.
Funeral Services Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, 11 a.m., East Carbon LDS Ward Chapel. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the church Monday one hour prior to services. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
