Eugene Francis Pearce, 77, died November 15, 1999 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was born November 13, 1922 in Daniels Canyon to Duncan Lafette and Edna Blackburn Pearce. He married Millie Bowen in 1941, she died December 11, 1988. He married Grace Derricott August 23, 1994.Gene was a veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific on the USS Rockingham. He is a retired boilermaker welder local lodge 182. He was a Master Mason Carbon Lodge 16 in Price, Utah. He loved horses and was always buying and selling them. He was destined to leave this world with a black eye, and he did. He was a professional boxer during the 30's and 40's, and was champion of the Intermountain States in his weight division.
Survived by his wife, Grace; children, Peggy (Almie) Moulton, Terry (Patty) Pearce, Rocky (KayLynn) Pearce, Bill (Patti) Jones, and Kathy Derricott; sister, Bertha (Don) Edwards; and 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by sons, Tim Pearce and Monte Derricott; brother, Arcade Pearce; and sister, Dora Snow.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 20, 1999 11 a.m. at the Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South. Friends may call Saturday 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South.
