Can Calgary slow Hamilton’s McManus?

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Coach Wally Buono isn't asking his Calgary Stampeders defense to completely shut down quarterback Danny McManus of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the Grey Cup game Sunday.

He just wants them to slow CFL's outstanding player and make sure he has to work for everything he gets."You have to understand you're not going to shut Danny McManus down," Buono said. "If you approach the game that way, he is not going to frustrate you.

"He is going to get completions, he is going to get first downs and probably score points against you. But what you don't want to do is give him the easy play and the easy touchdown."

Touchdowns haven't been a problem this season for McManus and Co. The Ticats led the CFL in scoring with 603 points and included 45 offensive TDs in that total. McManus was a major offensive contributor with a league-high 28 touchdown passes.
