Melva B. Slack, age 87, passed away peacefully, February 2, 1999, in Salt Lake City, due to incidence of age.

Melva was born February 7, 1911 in Provo, Utah to Elmo and Aurora Walton Brereton. Educated and grew up in Provo, Utah. Married Elmer P. Slack in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, October 2, 1930.Mother and Dad made their home in Salt Lake City. Mother was employed at ZCMI. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Active member of the LDS Church. The great love of her life was her family, who by her dedication and example, left many fond memories.

She is survived by her daughter Norma S. Parry (Robert), her son S.G. (Bud) Slack and his wife Terry, grandchildren: Mark Parry, Kim Gardner (Jeff), Brad Slack (Julie), Todd Slack (Jamie), Mindy Slack, and two great-grandsons, Tyler and Jared Gardner. Also survived by a sister Vera B. Clark, brother Floyd W. Brereton (Jean) of Provo, Utah. Also numerous nieces and

nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, February 5, 1999 at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, where friends may call on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
