PROVO -- A 30-year-old Springville man was arrested Monday in connection with a 2-month-old aggravated assault incident at a Wymount Terrace laundry room.

Acting on a tip from two students, Brigham Young University Police apprehended a suspect in the Jan. 5 attack. The man was taken into custody at about 12:15 a.m Monday in the No. 4 laundry room at Wymount, a housing complex for BYU students and their families.The students, who are residents at Wymount, notified police after they observed the man walking through the area. They recognized the man from advisories that had been posted on campus by police.

The man was taken into custody and taken to the Utah County Jail. He will face felony charges of aggravated assault and burglary in connection with the Jan. 5 incident. He is accused of threatening a woman in the No. 5 laundry room, telling her he had a gun. The victim was not injured during the incident.

The suspect also allegedly stole several hundred dollars worth of clothing from the BYU laundry.
