Our sweet and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Helen Merrill Chandler, has joined her dear husband, Hal W. and her baby, Hal Merrill. She died on March 11, 1999.

Born May 2, 1908 in Oakley, Idaho, she was the daughter of Albert M. and Julia Lewis Merrill. She graduated from the University of Utah in 1929 and taught English in the Ogden School District until her marriage to Hal on June 9, 1933. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple June 25, 1942.She supported her husband in all his activities and was unconditional in her love for her children and their children. She was an active and faithful member of the LDS Church throughout her life and served as a teacher in Relief Society. She had a lively sense of humor and a strong will. She was, always, a lady.

Survived by her daughter, Constance, and her husband, William Mueser of Moraga, California; and her three sons and their wives, Craig and Sharon of St. George, Utah; Steven and Jaylene of Park City, Utah; and Douglas and Ellen of Eagle, Idaho. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Norton of Salt Lake City; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Her family wishes to acknowledge and express their profound appreciation for the loving and generous care provided by the staff at St. Joseph's Villa.

A private family service will be held at the chapel at St. Joseph Villa on March 15, 1999.
