Full-time executive director named for group that seeks to drain Lake Powell

The Salt Lake-based Glen Canyon Institute, which campaigns to drain Lake Powell, has hired Pamela Hyde as its first full-time executive director.

Hyde most recently worked as regional director for American Rivers. She also has worked on the Glen Canyon Adaptive Management Work Group, a federal committee that advises Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt about the operations of Glen Canyon Dam.Hyde will work from the Glen Canyon Institute's Flagstaff, Ariz., office.
