RICHFIELD, Utah--Grant C. Ogden, 89, of Richfield, Utah died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 17, 1999.

He was born May 7, 1909, in Richfield, Utah, to Charles L. and Dora Ann Coons Ogden. He married Wanda Pearl Lawson, July 15, 1929, in Richfield, Utah. The marriage was Solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, June 7, 1949. She preceded him in death October 3, 1978. He married Madge Greenwood Nebeker, July 19, 1983, in Provo, Utah.He lived his entire life in Richfield where he and his three brothers owned and operated Ideal Dairy for many years, which was founded by his father. His wonderful sense of humor and gentle nature will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Grant graduated from Richfield High School in 1927 and attended Snow College. He loved people, especially children and had a special gift with horses, dogs and cats. He enjoyed riding horses in the mountains, watching BYU and Jazz basketball, competing, visiting with family and friends, telling stories, and entertaining the many children who always gathered around him. He was active in his church and community throughout his life, serving in many capacities. In his several church callings, he was most rewarded and proud of his ongoing temple work, his interactions with the needy and elderly, and his association with members of the Adult Aaronic Priesthood. He served as a member of the Sevier County Fair Board, Richfield City Council, Sevier County Planning Commission, Redview Riders, and the Utah State Riding Club Association, where he willingly contributed many hours of leadership and service.

He is survived by his wife, Madge Nebeker Ogden, Richfield; son, Jeff and Diana Ogden, Richfield; two daughters, Julianne and Tony Cowley, Venice; Renee Hazen, St. George; brother, Homer and Anna Mae Ogden, Richfield; sisters, Shirley Nielson, Springville; Helen Evans, Doradean and Kenneth Hendrickson, both of Richfield; ten grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Cherril Ogden, Florence Ogden, both of Richfield. Preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; parents; brothers: LaVar Ogden, Reed and Theresa Ogden, Woodrow and Thelma Ogden, and Garth and Iva Mae Ogden; brothers-in-law: Max Evans, Shelly Nielson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 20, 1999, at 2 p.m. in the Richfield 8th and 10th LDS Ward with Bishop Richard Jordan officiating. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Neal S.
