Balloonists Bertrand Piccard and Brian Jones will receive the Olympic Order after successfully circumnavigating the globe, International Olympic Committee president Juan Antonio Samaranch said Saturday. "The IOC has decided to congratulate these two pioneers for their great success," said Samaranch, just hours after the two made aeronautical history when they crossed over the Sahara Desert. The Olympic Order is the highest award a non-athlete can receive from the IOC. Established in 1974, it is presented annually to individuals who illustrate the Olympic ideal through their actions.
