Homer J Thorup, 81, died March 19, 1999, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born April 8, 1917 to Henry Joshua and Pearl Casey Thorup, the eldest of four children. Married LaVerla Evans, July 7, 1947. They were married for 51 years. Member of the United Steel Workers Union. On March 12, 1975, Governor Calvin Rampton presented Homer with the prestigious Craftsman of the Year Award. He worked for the Galigher Company, retiring after 34 years of dedicated service. He was extremely generous with his time and talents, particularly in his shop at his home, helping many.Survivors, wife, LaVerla; daughter, Kathryn (Craig) Milner; two granddaughters, Andrea (Rob), and Sarah; sister, Betty (Art) Miranda. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Glenn; sister, Marge.

Graveside services Monday, March 22nd, 10 a.m., Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy, where friends and family may call one hour prior to the services.
