KING HAS A DEAL: Don King says he has a deal with Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis to fight again for the undisputed heavyweight championship. A lot of other deals have to be made, however, before the rematch ever becomes reality.Though King said Sunday that Holyfield has signed for a $15 million purse for the rematch, issues ranging from the site of the fight to how much control King has over the promotion need to be resolved long before the two fighters ever get into the ring again.

Members of Lewis' camp -- stung by the disputed draw their fighter got March 13 -- reportedly want King to have only a minor role in the promotion. And HBO wants different terms than it got to televise the first fight.

King said Sunday that both fighters want the bout in September, and that both would be guaranteed $15 million for the rematch.

HASKINS IN MORE HOT WATER: University of Minnesota President Mark Yudof says he wants to talk to basketball coach Clem Haskins about allegations that Haskins gave cash to a former player before kicking him off the team.

Cash payments could bring severe National Collegiate Athletic Association penalties for Haskins as well as the basketball program.

Former player Russ Archambault's allegation against Haskins will become part of the overall investigation beginning today into academic fraud in the men's basketball program, a university spokeswoman said.

ALFORD EYEING HAWKEYES: Southwest Missouri State basketball coach Steve Alford says he has been interviewed by Iowa and is interested in coaching the Hawkeyes next season.

Iowa athletic director Bob Bowlsby said last April that coach Tom Davis' contract would not be extended past this season, his 13th at Iowa.

Alford told reporters he is "99 percent" sure he will coach at Iowa or Southwest Missouri State next year.
