Two women accused of trying to forge prescriptions over the telephone are facing felony charges in separate cases.

One woman called an Albertson's pharmacy on Feb. 16 claiming to be an employee of a doctor's office, prosecutors allege. She said a patient needed Lomotil, an anti-diarrheal medicine, and then showed up 30 minutes later to pick up the drugs. The pharmacist suspected she was lying and called police. The doctor's office confirmed that the woman did not call from the office.

The other woman called a Kmart pharmacy on Nov. 4, 1998, and gave the pharmacist the same story. She said she was calling from a doctor's office and asked for the pain reliever Lortab, court documents allege. The pharmacist traced the call to the woman's residence and called police.
