A prison parolee is back in jail, accused of raping the teenage daughter of a former Utah Department of Corrections employee.

Ike Everson, 47, raped and fondled the 14-year-old girl on March 15, prosecutors believe. Authorities learned of the alleged attack last Tuesday, when deputies were dispatched to the Millcreek home for an unrelated civil problem."The daughter told what was happening and the sex crime detectives were brought in," Salt Lake County sheriff's deputy Faulkner said.

A medical examination revealed the girl had been sexually assaulted, according to the 3rd District Court charges filed Friday.

Everson asked the former corrections employee if he could stay at her house and she said yes, Faulkner said. He had been living in the woman's basement since he was paroled in 1998.

Officers booked Everson into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of breaking his parole and for the rape allegations. He remains there with bail set at $250,000, according to court documents.

He is facing a count of rape and forcible sodomy, both first-degree felonies; forcible sexual sodomy, a second-degree felony; and tampering with a witness, a third-degree felony.

While investigators were interviewing the girl, Everson allegedly called from jail and told her not to say anything "that would get him in trouble," according to court documents.

Everson has an "extensive criminal history" in Weber County, Faulkner added. He has apparently been in and out of prison for years. If convicted on the new allegations, he could spend the rest of his life there.
