Our loving mother, grandmother and sister, Verna Joyce Monsen Parry, age 78, passed away March 21, 1999, in Salt Lake.

Verna was born September 8, 1920, in Huntington Utah, the daughter of Peter and Catherine Gilman Monsen. She married Carl A. Eaquinta in 1946, later divorced. She married David Junior Parry, July 1, 1953, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death January 5, 1990. They both enjoyed doing genealogy work together and she especially enjoyed her calling as ward librarian. The high point of her life was being a member of the Tabernacle Choir. Music was the joy of her life. She and her twin sister (widely known as the Monsen Twins) delighted Emery and Carbon Counties with their vocal duets. Her rich alto voice was stirring, and her talent was from her heart. Her love and devotion to her family was unsurpassed, as was her example of integrity and character. Her passing grieves our hearts and leaves an irreplaceable void in our lives.Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Hughes, Salt Lake City, Utah; Diane Despain, Bountiful, Utah; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; twin sister, Vera (Leo) Espinosa, Salt Lake City, Utah. She also had many nieces and nephews who will greatly miss her. Preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters.
