MURRAY--Grace Paswaters Jewell, wife, mother, grandmother, died peacefully at the age of 85, surrounded by family, on March 21, 1999 in Draper, Utah.

Grace was born on November 16, 1913 to Oscar W. and Elverda Emma Paswaters in Lyndall, Utah and was raised in Leamington, Utah. She married Jesse M. Jewell on March 16, 1932 and had been married 50 years at the time of Jesse's death in 1981. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She had served in the Primary and Relief Society, and enjoyed researching genealogy.Following Jesse's death, Grace continued living at 6th East and 4500 South in the home the couple had built in the late 1950's. During her 18 years as a widow, Grace devoted her energies to gardening and preserving the harvest for the long winter months. She enjoyed inviting her children and grandchildren to her home for dinner where she proudly prepared and served the fresh fruits and vegetables from her orchard and garden. Grace's concerns were not for herself but rather at Christmas time, how she could save a few dollars from her small pension to give to each grandchild.

Grace's family sincerely thanks the staff at Central Valley Dialysis, Draper Care Center, and especially her primary care physicians, Dr. Sharon Lee and Dr. Elisabet Atkin-Thor, for their care and concern during the past two years.

Grace is survived by three sons, Kent J. (Sharon) Jewell, Kenneth A. (Kea) Jewell, Dan McBride; two daughters, Christine (Paul) Jensen, Julie Anderson; two brothers, Dick (Donna) Paswaters, Jack (Chris) Paswaters; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Sylvia, parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held Thursday March 25, 1999 at 12 noon at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State St., where friends may call Wed. from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thurs. from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
