US WEST has joined the ranks of free e-mail providers, giving its telephone customers Web-based e-mail accounts that can be accessed from any computer that has Internet access.

The service is available in both English and Spanish. Sign-ups are processed at http://www.uswestmail.net. The service supports file attachments and offers mail sorting and folder options.
