A gentle, kind, caring soul left this life on earth to continue his journey to a new level, soaring like an eagle and riding with the wind. Passed away March 22, 1999 after a short illness.
Born October 23, 1929 to Kenneth Thomas and Opal Provost Ryan. Lived in Park City for the first 33 years of his life. He loved the mountains, mining, hunting, and fishing. He married Echo Layman, April 7, 1960 and became a very special daddy to two daughters Pam and Katy, and had four sons. He was a caring, thoughtful husband and a gentle giant as a father. As a grandpa he always had a special place on his lap for Sara. He loved being a miner in Park City and Lark. Later enjoyed farming then became a baker. He loved the Uintah Mountains and many special hours were spent camping, hunting and fishing up there with his family. His family was very special to him.Survived by his wife, daughter Pamela (Tim) Crowe, Florence MT, Kenneth (Barbara) Ryan, Magna, UT, Scott Ryan, Diamond Bar CA, Tracy Ryan, Salt Lake City, Michael (Angie) Ryan, Magna, UT, seven grandchildren, Mark Crowe, Julie Holtkamp, Leslie McGehee, Cari Robinson, KR Robinson, Shana and Sara Ryan, two great-grandchildren, Mckenzie and Dayton, sister, Beverly Bates, Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by his daughter Katy, parents, and brothers, Marvin and Gary. He was a kind and gentle spirit and will be missed by all who knew him.
His wishes were to be cremated and a gathering of friends and family be held at the family home to reminisce the good times on Thursday, March 25, 1999 from 5-9 p.m. located at 2029 East 3580 South in Salt Lake City. Funeral directors Wasatch Lawn Mortuary.
